Community consultation outcomes

The Community Passenger Network (CPN) is a state funded scoping project, auspiced by the City of Marion for the Inner Southern Metro Region (City of Marion, Holdfast Bay and Mitcham).

The project recently completed a milestone by completing a “transport needs survey” across the region between September – October 2014. The survey findings will assist in establishing the service needs and destination gaps of the transport disadvantaged across the Inner Southern Metro region.

There was good survey participation from the residents with a total of 348 responses received; largely the age demographics of respondents were aged 70 and over.

The next phase of the scoping project will be to review and analyse all the survey data and report the findings in a Business Plan required by the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) in February 2015. Transition into the set up and implementation phase will depend upon receiving full grant funding through the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion and Council sign off.

If grant funding is received the information reported by the survey respondents can assist the Inner Southern Metro Community Passenger Network (CPN) as well as the City of Marion and partnering councils (City of Holdfast Bay and City of Mitcham) to develop and evaluate service programs with the aim of improving the transport outcomes for the transport disadvantaged residents within the Inner Southern Metro region.

Thank you for your participation with this survey.
